Definitely My Kid

Scene: Last night, while watching "So You Think You Can Dance", a McDonald's commercial advertising "Ice Age" Happy Meals comes on.

Bug (emphatically): That commercial drives me nuts!

Me: Why?

Bug: Well, Scrat the squirrel abandons his acorn to chase the Happy Meal. He's obsessed with that acorn. He would never break character like that.

Me: You know, you're right.

Bug: You'd think they'd consider these things before making the commercial.

Now I ask you, is that the child of a former theater teacher, or what?

I love that she knows the phrase "break character"! Yes, she's definitely a drama teacher's daughter!!

This is unrelated to the subject of this post, but did you and Daddy Shortbread do anything special to celebrate your 14th anniversary yesterday? The years are zipping by, aren't they? :)

When my youngest was in high school, he was Tech Theater (lights and sound). It was almost unbearable to go to the movies with him, because he would pick it apart: the acting, the lights, the way the shot was set up, etc.

Too funny! I do like that she noticed that he "broke character"!
