...listening to my kids laugh out loud at the same Charlie Brown Halloween special that I loved as a kid. I guess some things are timeless.
And by the way, happiness is most certainly NOT making 100 miniature chocolate whoopie pies with orange frosting for tomorrow's class parties. That falls more into the category of "motherhood" or "martyrdom."

Whoopie pies??? My mom ALWAYS talks about them. She made them when she was a young, new mother in Texas, and only recently found a recipe. She hadn't had them since like 1974. And NOBODY I know has EVER heard of them. I found her a recipe online but she has yet to make them.
They are delicious, but the biggest pain in the butt to make. It's a once-a-year thing around here.
This one is easy. "Motherhood!"
Please send me two of them! Grandpa
I'm no longer a fan of whoopie pies. I liked them as a kid but find the filling to be too sweet now. No clue why - I still LOVE sweets! I'll bet the kids in Bear and Bug's classes gobbled them up with gusto!
Oh my gosh, Whoopie Pies. You just made me shed a tear. Yum.
And I watched the Charlie Brown special and I laughed, but I was a little sad because my kids just didn't get it. :(
